Are you a detail-driven manufacturing professional with a passion for process improvement and hands-on engineering? We're hiring a Manufacturing Engineer to join a dynamic technical team in Hayes. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in supporting production operations and driving continuous improvement in a cutting-edge aerospace manufacturing environment.
What You'll Be Doing
- Creating and updating detailed manufacturing work instructions and tooling documentation
- Supporting operations on the shop floor by troubleshooting processes and resolving production issues
- Collaborating cross-functionally with teams in IT, tooling, maintenance, and supply chain
- Analysing manufacturing processes and identifying bottlenecks and waste
- Driving process optimization through Lean and continuous improvement initiatives
- Developing and managing tooling master data in SAP systems
- Conducting time and motion studies, capacity analysis, and workflow mapping
- Assisting in automation and digital transformation projects to improve efficiency
What We're Looking For
- HND or higher in Mechanical Engineering or similar technical discipline
- Proven experience with CAD (SolidWorks preferred) and creating manufacturing documentation
- Strong understanding of engineering drawings and inspection regimes
- Familiarity with metal processing and surface finishing, ideally in aerospace
- Confident with ERP/MRP systems and MS Office tools
- A collaborative team player with excellent analytical and communication skills
- Right to work in the UK without restriction
Working Environment
- Office-based with frequent work on the production floor (exposure to chemicals may occur)
- Flexibility required: potential shift work and weekend support during critical phases
- Occasional travel to partner facilities may be needed
