Job Summary: As the Controls Engineering Technician, you will assist in the testing, evaluation, and specification of new or existing company products. Individuals in this position are comfortable working virtually in a CAD, Drawing, or ERP environment as well as with their hands in a testing or production environment. Controls Engineering Technicians are expected to be capable of working independently to accomplish many tasks and often take technical direction from Controls Engineers and managers alike. This role often serves as a link between the Product Engineering and the shop floor technical activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
* Write, debug, or modify PLC, HMI, PC and other control programs using various software
* Create bills of material and routings for use in cost estimates and manufacturing
* Create owner's manuals, test procedures, and other engineering deliverables as required
* Provide technical support to shop personnel during manufacturing
* Provide field support of Company products as required
* Conduct testing and evaluation of both new products and production products as needed
* Develop, document, and conduct training for testing protocols suitable for production environments

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Manufacturing Support
* Collaborate with manufacturing and integration teams to support control panel assembly, wiring, component placement, and testing during production.
* Provide hands-on engineering support for new product introductions and design updates, including resolving technical questions related to BOMs, routings, and assembly instructions.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
* This position has no direct reports.

Travel Demands:
* 100 percent
Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
* Working knowledge of NFPA 70, National Electric Code, and NFPA 79, Electrical Standard for Industrial Machinery
* Ability to troubleshoot electrical control circuits
* Proficient with AutoCAD, Electrical
* Competent communicator with a wide array of cross functional staff in both office and manufacturing settings
* General working knowledge of PLC, HMI, and PC based control hardware and software.
* Able to maintain positive and professional relationships with all cross functional team members

Education and Experience:
* Associate's Degree in Electrical Engineering field is required
* Minimum 1-2 years or relative experience is preferred

Computer Skills:
* Proficient with Auto CAD Electrical
* Proficient with 3D CAD software, preferably SolidWorks
* Proficient with Rockwell Studio 5000
* Proficient in Microsoft Excel

Physical Demands:
* Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
* Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit.
* Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

Work Environment:
* The work environment is pleasant, temperature controlled, professional office environment in a manufacturing setting. The employee works in an office setting but does have frequent interaction with the shop floor. On the shop floor, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is mixed and the air temperature fluctuates with the seasonal weather.
