Procurement Specialist

We are looking for a Procurement Specialist to work full time in Berlin on a fixed term contract basis for an international client in intralogistics and automation industry. As a Procurement Specialist you would act as a key professional for innovation centre, managing local and regional purchasing, supplier relationships, and cost-saving projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish and improve procurement processes
  • Take ownership of procurement operations
  • Act as the primary contact for supply chain matters
  • Manage purchasing activities
  • Lead and mentor junior procurement personnel
  • Coordinate vendor management activities
  • Support invoicing and supplier follow-up
  • Provide overall governance of procurement activities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive or similar industrial field where high volumes of material need to be managed accurately
  • Ability to manage stock of spare parts, production material, and deployment/retrofit material
  • Ability to manage work of 1-3 buyers/material handlers
  • Create material management processes for 2 lab buildings and offsite shipments
  • Inventory management for 2 lab sites in Berlin
  • Ability to handle frequent offshore shipments
  • Oversee proper housekeeping in 2 lab spaces
  • Berlin-based with English and German language proficiency
