Maintenance Sites Team Leader - Lyons, GA

Description

Our Client designs and delivers advanced automation solutions that help global brands optimize warehouse performance while supporting warehouse teams across at every level. Our organization combines elegant mechanical design, resilient software and a deep understanding of logistics operations to solve our clients' most complex challenges.

About the Role

Were looking for a hands-on Maintenance Sites Team Leader to lead the maintenance team at a large-scale automated warehouse operation in Lyons, GA. This site runs an advanced robotics environment - 3 systems, 450 robots (Skypod) - supporting a high-volume manufacturing and distribution operation..

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of maintenance technicians (5-10 total reports: several permanent on-site, remainder distributed across other sites)
  • Plan maintenance operations and ensure theyre completed on schedule
  • Own recruiting, onboarding, training, and ongoing development of your team members
  • Coach team members based on their individual strengths and growth areas - including mentoring junior/ambitious technicians in a collaborative, not top-down, style
  • Provide hands-on technical and operational support to the team during daily work
  • Lead or co-lead team rituals (huddles, check-ins, reviews) according to our established framework
  • Track, report on, and challenge site performance KPIs (reliability, safety, budget, resource management) ensure all data, including KPI exclusions, is reported accurately and on time
  • Manage material purchasing within your sites allocated budget
  • Coordinate third-party vendor schedules and ensure mandatory equipment inspections are completed on time
  • Ensure your team, external partners, and the customer comply with all EHS (Environment, Health & Safety) procedures, including 5S site organization standards
  • Reason systematically through equipment downtime - separating known vs. unknown causes - and communicate business impact, not just the technical fix
  • Drive a preventative maintenance mindset on-site, not just reactive repairs
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects on-site
  • May participate in level 2 on call rotation

Physical Requirements

While hands-on fieldwork is not a daily expectation of this role, the Team Leader must be able to perform it as needed to support the team and cover gaps. Candidates must be able to:

  • Use and manipulate standard hand tools
  • Occasionally lift up to 50 lbs
  • Work from heights of up to 50 ft
  • Use and operate lifts with a manufacturer-rated capacity of 250 lbs (including tools and equipment weighing approximately 30 lbs)
  • Stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to access and repair equipment at ground level
  • Work on overhead equipment, including extended reaching and manual dexterity

Requirements

  • Prior experience leading, supervising, or coaching a team of technicians, ideally in a field service, industrial maintenance, or automated/robotics warehouse environment
  • Strong ownership mentality - proactively tracks and reports on site performance rather than waiting to be asked
  • Data-driven approach to maintenance and site management
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate technical issues into terms non-technical stakeholders and clients can understand
  • Collaborative mindset - this is a shared site with project teams, and a _how can I help_ attitude is essential
  • Comfortable managing both on-site direct reports and remote team members, coordinating across the client, your team, and leadership
  • Strong organizational skills ensures tools, equipment, and the site are left in proper condition
  • Experience with maintenance/CMMS software or robotics monitoring tools preferred, but not required for an otherwise strong candidate
  • Valid drivers license must reside within approximately 1 hour of the Lyons, GA site (relocation within 1-2 months considered for the right candidate)
  • Willingness to travel up to 25% to other sites
  • Willingness and physical ability to step into hands-on troubleshooting and repair work as needed (see Physical Requirements above)

The following are a bonus:

  • Basic understanding of API logs (response codes, etc)
  • Basic understanding of Process flow

Benefits

  • Competitive compensation package, inclusive of annual performance bonus
  • Comprehensive medical, dental and vision coverage
  • Generous vacation and time off policy
  • 401(k) with company match up to 5%
  • Continuous opportunities for training and development in a rapidly growing, international company
