Are you an experienced Maintenance Engineer looking to step into a leadership role? Or an established Engineering Team Leader seeking a new challenge within a fast-paced FMCG environment?

We're working with a well-established food manufacturing business in Wembley that is looking for an Engineering Team Leader to join its growing engineering team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead from the front, combining hands-on engineering with team leadership and continuous improvement initiatives.

The Role

As Engineering Team Leader, you'll be responsible for leading a team of engineers while ensuring the efficient operation and reliability of production equipment. You'll play a key role in driving engineering performance, minimising downtime, and supporting site-wide improvement projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of maintenance engineers.
  • Carry out planned and reactive maintenance across manufacturing equipment.
  • Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical faults.
  • Coordinate engineering resources to maximise site performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement and reliability initiatives.
  • Monitor engineering KPIs and implement corrective actions.
  • Manage engineering stores and critical spare parts.
  • Support shutdown activities and contractor management.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with site procedures.
  • Work closely with production teams to improve plant efficiency and output.

About You

  • Strong maintenance engineering experience within FMCG, food manufacturing, or a fast-paced production environment.
  • Multi-skilled with both electrical and mechanical fault-finding experience.
  • Previous experience in a Team Leader, Supervisor, or Senior Engineer role.
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Experience with planned and reactive maintenance strategies.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
  • Engineering qualification such as NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent desirable.
