Our client is a well-established leader within the automation and intralogistics industry, developing advanced conveyor and material flow solutions used across complex industrial environments. They are now looking for a PLC Developer to join their team in Germany. This is an excellent opportunity for a technically driven engineer who enjoys creating robust, maintainable software solutions and wants to be involved in everything from software architecture and safety concepts through to testing and continuous product improvement.

Working closely with automation, safety, and mechanical engineering teams, you will play a key role in developing and enhancing PLC software standards for pallet conveyor systems while ensuring the highest levels of functionality, safety, and quality.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and enhance standardised PLC software modules for pallet conveyor systems
  • Program and maintain software using Siemens TIA Portal (SCL)
  • Support software architecture development and functional standardisation
  • Define and implement machine safety functions in accordance with relevant standards
  • Conduct risk assessments and collaborate with safety and mechanical engineering teams
  • Create software test specifications and perform functional testing
  • Analyse technical requirements and translate them into reliable automation solutions
  • Support continuous improvement of software quality and maintainability

Requirements:

  • Degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field
  • Several years of PLC programming experience within machine building or industrial automation environments
  • Strong knowledge of Siemens TIA Portal (SCL)
  • Experience using Git-based version control systems
  • Understanding of material handling systems and conveyor technology
  • Knowledge of functional safety standards such as EN ISO 13849
  • Structured and analytical approach to problem-solving
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
