Project Engineer / Installation Coordinator - Warehouse Automation (Racking & Retrofit Projects) - Offering Nationwide Project Opportunities, Hands-On Site Coordination, and Competitive Contract Rates

The employer specialises in the warehouse automation and material handling industry and is supporting multiple large-scale warehouse racking retrofit and installation projects across the United States. They are known for delivering complex warehouse infrastructure and automation solutions and provide contractors with the opportunity to work on fast-paced, high-profile projects at customer sites nationwide.

They have an exciting opportunity for a Project Engineer / Installation Coordinator to join their Field Operations team. This position is ideal for someone with a mechanical or electrical installation background who enjoys working onsite, coordinating project activities, and ensuring installations are completed safely, efficiently, and according to plan.

This position is based within the Field Operations department and reports to the Project Management team. You will support onsite project execution, coordinate contractors and vendors, monitor project progress, and help ensure successful delivery from installation through completion.

Responsibilities:

  • Support day-to-day onsite execution of warehouse racking retrofit and installation projects.
  • Coordinate contractors, vendors, integrators, and project stakeholders.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings and installation plans.
  • Monitor project progress and provide regular status updates.
  • Lead or participate in site meetings and communicate project risks.
  • Ensure compliance with safety requirements and project standards.
  • Support light testing and commissioning activities where required.
  • Assist with resolving onsite issues to maintain project schedules.

Requirements:

  • Experience in Project Engineering, Installation Coordination, Site Engineering, or similar field-based roles.
  • Mechanical installation experience preferred; electrical installation experience within industrial environments will also be considered.
  • Experience within warehouse automation, material handling, distribution centres, industrial, or construction projects.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings and understand installation workflows.
  • Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout the United States.

Qualifications:

  • Engineering degree, technical qualification, or equivalent hands-on experience.
  • OSHA 10 certification preferred.
  • Ability to pass background screening.

Local candidates are preferred where possible; however, travel support is available.

Per Diem (M&IE):

  • Standard CONUS locations: $68/day
  • Phoenix, AZ: $86/day
  • Visalia, CA: $80/day
