They have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join their team. This position is well-suited to a creative and hands-on engineer who enjoys solving complex mechanical challenges, collaborating across multiple disciplines, and contributing throughout the entire product development life cycle.
This position is based within the Engineering department and reports to the Engineering Manager. You will support the design, development, and implementation of conveyor and material handling systems while collaborating closely with manufacturing, operations, and project teams to deliver innovative automation solutions.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop conveyor and material handling equipment using SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar CAD software.
- Create engineering drawings, layouts, technical documentation, and manufacturing packages.
- Develop and maintain Bills of Materials (BOMs) and production routings.
- Support new product development projects from concept through implementation.
- Perform engineering calculations, equipment sizing, and component selection.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, suppliers, and internal teams to troubleshoot and improve designs.
- Provide technical support for production activities, field installations, and product improvements.
- Assist with testing procedures, engineering documentation, and product validation activities.
Requirements:
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of design engineering experience.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks (preferred), AutoCAD, or similar 3D CAD software.
- Strong understanding of mechanical systems, manufacturing processes, and engineering fundamentals.
- Experience creating engineering drawings, BOMs, and technical documentation.
- Familiarity with conveyor systems, warehouse automation, or material handling equipment is advantageous.
- Basic knowledge of electrical controls and automation systems preferred.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within fast-paced cross-functional teams.
